Tough Cardio For Better Results

Tough Cardio For Better Results
by Katherine Crawford

Cardiovascular exercise is a great tool for maximizing the oxidation of fat cells and for increasing the health of your arteries.
In essence, you should not be spending all day on a cardio machine!
After all, overdoing your cardio can break down your body again and again. So here is how to turn your regular cardio into caveman cardio:
1. Stick to treadmills: Compared to elliptical machines and stationary bikes, treadmills dominate when it comes to amount of fat burned per unit of time. It seems as though being in the upright position taxes the human body more so than other positions. Just make sure you don't overdo it here or you could prevent your body from recovering.
2. Spice things up: Do the same type of cardio day in and day out and not only will you plateau physically, but also psychologically. To keep yourself from going insane and to keep your body from not responding, do different types of cardiovascular exercise in your workouts. Hoping from one machine to the next with minimal rest is a great way to accomplish this.
3. Prioritize weight lifting: How does prioritizing weight lifting increase the effectiveness of cardiovascular exercise? It does because by weightlifting first you will burn more fat when doing cardio. Having said that, the difference will be minimal, but significant nonetheless.
4. Crank up the heat: Although this may sound like common sense, pushing yourself hard is the best way to get faster results. One approach here is to intersperse periods of all out effort with periods of medium effort. Doing so allows for a zig zag stimulus to your body which increases calories burned.
5. Stick with slow digesting carbs: Lots of athletes will have a muffin or sugar-laden serving of cereal before doing cardio. Unfortunately, this approach will leave you with subpar levels of energy. Instead, stick with sources of carbohydrates that digest slowly for optimal energy.
Do you enjoy doing cardio? If you don't, start implementing the above techniques so that it is no longer a chore. And take action on this information today, don't wait until tomorrow!

How To Sleep Better For Better Weight Loss

How To Sleep Better For Better Weight Loss
by Katherine Crawford

Sleep is more than just about feeling refreshed. While you sleep, your body secretes a multitude of hormones that regulate fat loss.
Sadly, many people trying to get in shape do not know how to maximize this process.
So here are some tools for helping you burn more fat when you sleep:
1. Exercise as early as you can after breakfast: The best time to exercise is earlier in the day. Not only does this help fat loss, but it also helps you get really tired at night. You see, as the day progresses chemicals in your brain get burned up. And once they run out, you get very tired.
2. Use high intensity light it the morning: This will act like natural sunlight. And your body uses natural sunlight to regulate how tired you get at night. It serves as an anchor by which your body establishes sleeping patterns.
3. Don't use supplements: If you have to use supplements to fall asleep, you will create a psychological dependency. Over time, it may be very hard to overcome this. Also, many over the counter formulations leave you dead tired the next day.
4. Have some fat and protein before bed: This will prevent you from feeling groggy in the morning due to low blood sugar. It will also help your body secrete a little more testosterone and growth hormone at night. So don't go to bed on an empty stomach.
5. Stay away from sugary carbs: A load of sugar right before bed can leave you wide awake because of the energy rush. So the best strategy here is to stay away from sugary foods. Also, having lots of sugar will reduce growth hormone output.
6. Have a ritual: Make sure you practice the same ritual every night before going to bed. Not only will this create predictability, but you will also condition your body to get tired as you practice the ritual every night. So create the habit and stick with it.
Getting good sleep is vital if you want to maximize weight loss. So make sure you implement these tips as soon as you can.

6 Ways To Avoid Dry Crocodile Skin When You Exercise

6 Ways To Avoid Dry Crocodile Skin When You Exercise
by Katherine Crawford

Nothing compares to the feeling you get after an intense workout. And intense workouts are absolutely necessary if you want to change your body.
Sadly, intense exercise can leave you with extremely dry skin.
So here are 6 ways to avoid excessively dry skin when you are exercising with a high frequency:
1. Avoid long and hot showers: The longer and hotter the shower, the dryer your skin will become. Keep showers short and cold. This will allow your skin to retain as much natural oil as possible. You will also cut down on energy.
2. Use humidification: The more humid the air is, the less dry your skin will become. This is even more of an issue if you sleep with a fan or air conditioner. So get yourself a good humidifier and experiment with the different settings.
3. Don't use standard soap: Pay a little extra for moisturizing soap, it's well worth it. You see, regular soap will strip your body of its natural oils. This in turn will leave your skin really dry. And this feeling is really uncomfortable, especially if your facial skin becomes dry.
4. Use moisturizers after you shower: This is a great way to keep your skin hydrated after you strip away its oils while showering. As an added bonus, moisturizing your skin will reduce the overall visibility of any wrinkles you may have.
5. Don't scratch your skin: If your skin itches, use a lotion or other cream to make it go away. But if you scratch away with abandon you can make things worse. And the more you scratch, the dryer your skin can become.
6. Don't overload your system with caffeine: If you have too much caffeine in your system, your skin will never be hydrated. Instead, it will constantly be dry. It's just not possible to have normal skin if you are taking more than 300 milligrams of caffeine per day.
Sticking with an exercise routine is hard as is. The last thing you need is to have to deal with dry skin that looks flaky and ashy. So follow the advice in this article!
